    Biography

    Allard Feddes is an Assistant Professor of Social Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He has a PhD in Social Psychology (Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany, 2007) and a MSc. in Social and Organizational Psychology (University of Groningen, the Netherlands, 2004). Allard has also studied at Maynooth University (Ireland) and Simon Fraser University (Vancouver, Canada). He has worked as a post-doctoral researcher at ISCTE-Lisbon University Institute (Portugal) and the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy). Allard is broadly interested in the question how group membership influences our thinking (cognition), feeling (affect and emotions) and doing (behaviour). His research includes topics such as intergroup prejudice, stereotyping and discrimination; antecedents and consequences of hate-crime; collective action; radicalization and terrorism and populism. In addition, Allard is interested in developing interventions (i.e., countering discrimination) and how to best show what works and and what not (evidence-based evaluation).
