AICE researchers Roza Kamiloglu and Disa Sauter together with Josh Tybur (VU Amsterdam) are awarded with an ODISSEI-eScience Center grant to study vocal expressions of disgust.

AICE researchers Roza Kamiloglu and Disa Sauter together with Josh Tybur (VU Amsterdam) are awared with ODISSEI-eScience Center grant for their project "Vocalisations of Disgust across Behavioural Contexts: A Computational Analysis". They will be working with scientists from the ODISSEI and the Netherlands eScience Center on nonverbal vocalisations of disgust.

In this project, the team plan to apply machine learning algorithms to video and audio samples from disgust vocalisations in daily life, which allow them to capture a wide range of situations that systematically elicit such vocalisations. Combining classification algorithms with rich video and audio data will allow large-scale testing of the prediction that there are systematic associations between different kinds of disgust vocalisations and situational features.

Congratulations!
